Women Empowerment Statement
At NWAFASA, we believe that women are the backbone of agriculture — and when women farmers are empowered, entire communities grow stronger.
We are committed to advancing gender equity in farming, ensuring that African women in agriculture have equal access to land, resources, opportunities, and leadership.
Despite contributing significantly to food production, women often face barriers in accessing funding, markets, and decision-making spaces. NWAFASA is breaking these barriers through practical support, visibility, and advocacy.
We empower women by:
- Promoting access to land, finance, and agricultural inputs for women farmers
- Supporting women-led cooperatives and agribusinesses
- Offering capacity-building, training, and mentorship tailored to the needs of women in agriculture
- Advocating for women’s representation in leadership, boards, and rural governance
- Creating safe and inclusive spaces where women can lead, learn, and grow
When women rise, agriculture thrives.
NWAFASA is building a future where African women farmers are not just included — they are respected, supported, and celebrated as leaders in agriculture and rural development.
